To Give a Legal Identity to Those who are Deprived of One
The UNICEF estimates that 230 million children under the age of 5 do not exist legally in Africa. They are called “ghost children”. This is not an African exception, it is estimated that a billion people around the world are deprived of legal identity.
This situation leads to terrible injustice for these people and sentences their home countries to poverty. Without any reliable statistics, governments find it difficult if not impossible to plan their education policies, investment plans and are losing out on a massive demographic potential that could support their country’s development.
iCivil’s mission is to give a legal identity to everyone, by systematically registering births. By creating an unbreakable physico-digital bond for individuals, iCivil supplies tools for sovereign States to improve planning and execute public policies, and for individuals to exercise their rights.
